According to reports from authorities on Twitter, the 31-year-old ex-NFL star and fireman was among two climbers found by emergency personnel at Tahquitz Rock near Idyllwild in San Bernardino National Forest.
Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department followed up with a tweet noting, “Rescuers made contact to the location of victims”, and that Escobar and Chelsea Walsh (33), had “perished on the scene.”
